Isabella Brown

Isabella Brown

Bella Brown is a 19-year-old GBR Weightlifter who has broken several British records for her weight class and age groups she has competed in. She became the Senior British Champion being the youngest competitor within the competition and recently placed 3rd at the European Junior Championships – she became one of a select few British Weightlifters to ever medal at a Junior international! Bella’s long-term goals are to win medals at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics.

1. How did you get involved in Weightlifting?
I started Weightlifting in 2019 to help my CrossFit at the time and instantly fell in love making and eventually deciding to fully commit to weightlifting in late 2019.

2. What is your greatest sporting achievement?
My greatest sporting achievement would be winning my first ever international medals at the Junior European championships in 2023

3. Who was your biggest sporting inspiration growing up?
I wouldn’t really say I had a sporting inspiration growing up but I did think Paula Creamer was pretty cool, she is a golfer which is one of the sports I played in my childhood.

4. What is the best thing about competing in Weightlifting?
I would say the best thing about competing in weightlifting is the ability to showcase the grit and determination you’ve put into each block of training and the feeling of relief when all your hard work shows and pays off in good results.

5. What motivates you to train and compete at the highest level?
I strive to be the best and the idea that if I put in the work continuously I am capable of incredible things many don’t get the opportunity to experience.

6. What advice would you give to someone looking to take up Weightlifting seriously?
Find a good coach, surround yourself with people that motivate you and support your goals but most importantly fall in love with the process. Weightlifting can be both demoralising and rewarding so learning to push through bad times will bring you out on the bright side!

7. If you could be a professional athlete in any other sport, which sport would it be and why?
Golf 100%, I love that there’s little margin for error and anything could happen, its also an interest I share with my dad so has a sense of family and home to it.

8. Describe your perfect weekend.
I think being an athlete at such a high level means its important to balance life. I love a brunch and a long walk in the countryside and even a nice dinner and a drink, life is all about moderation and by finding that balance I have become so much happier!

9. What are your main reasons for recommending Beet It Sport?
Recovery is extremely important as an athlete especially as a strength sport athlete and this is something Beet it strives to achieve and does very well at. By incorporating beet it products into my day to day routine it allows me to think less about the stresses of my recovery.
