Getting to know you
1. How did you get involved in Hyrox?
A few friends were taking part - we took part in one of the first ever events way before Covid in Hannover. It was a great alignment with Spartan racing. Which is what I was doing at the time!
2. What is your greatest sporting achievement?
Wow! I have a few! I would have to say being offered a scholarship to the USA playing soccer at 17 years old is up there! Playing for West Ham United! Also achieving the fastest UK Pro Female Hyrox time more recently!
3. Who was your biggest sporting inspiration growing up?
I was obsessed with Lionel Messi (still am) and I would analyse him, his movement, his skills. I have to say, I did look up to Kelly Smith (ex-England captain) too!
4. What is the best thing about competing in Hyrox?
I would say the training methodology required. You must run, move, shift weight, carry, be functional… all of it. There are so many moving parts to the demand of the sport! It keeps you on your toes! Also, the crowd and it helps that the UK is leading the way 😉The atmosphere is insane, and the community is epic!
5. What motivates you to train and compete at the highest level?
I went quite deep about this in a podcast as it has certainly changed more recently. I was to be the best version of me. When I think I am done, I realise there is an extra 1% and that continues to motivate me to push beyond! Also trusting my body and how it shows up for me! That continues to motivate me.
6. What advice would you give to someone looking to take up Hryox seriously?
For those looking to get competitive in Hyrox, it’s key to avoid scatter-gunning your training. You need to make calculated and educated decisions around your training to progress!
7. If you could be a professional athlete in any other sport, which sport would it be and why?
Football. It was my first love. I’d love to have a game with Lucy bronze and the girls!!!!!!!
8. Describe your perfect weekend.
My perfect weekend (other than racing an event/ competing) would be training Saturday morning, heading to the beach for a cold-water sea swim with the dogs and my partner. I’m more of a date night "in" kind of girl now so maybe a film night with good food! Steak is my go-to dinner most nights!! Sunday, I like to head to the forest for a long run and then see friends / family in the afternoon!
9. What are your main reasons for recommending Beet It Sport?
I have seen the incredible benefits since drinking Beet It! It’s also the rawest form of beetroot juice I have found without taking time juicing it yourself!!!!! I have been drinking it before endurance sessions and competitions for years!
10.Anything additional you would like to say about Beet It Sport?
It’s epic that you provide the shot options! 🔥 Let’s get more people on the natural stuff our body is designed to operate on than the synthetic stuff!!!!!!
