How did you first become interested in rowing?

I got involved in rowing my freshman year of high school. My school had a team and I decided to try out. My mom, grandfather, and uncle were all rowers so I had a decent amount of exposure to the sport growing up. I definitely didn’t fall in love with it at first, but after a few years of consistent work the results started showing and that is when I really started enjoying it.

02

What is your greatest sporting achievement?

It was definitely winning the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne in May. That race was a culmination of so much hard work and years of training. To cross the finish line first and punch our ticket to the Olympics was a dream come true.

03

Who was your biggest sporting inspiration growing up?

The United States Women’s 8+ had an unprecedented 11-year winning streak going as I was growing up and getting into rowing. I remember watching them win both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and thinking “I want to be like them.” To see US rowers so dominant made me realize that maybe if I worked hard, I could be like them.

04

What is the best thing about competing in rowing?

By far the teammates and friends I have made. They inspire me to be my best every day. They are there to celebrate the small victories and to get me through the hardest days of training.

05

What motivates you to train and compete at the highest level?

I am a very internally motivated person. I always strive to be better than my past self. I like to set little goals for myself throughout the year and work towards them.

06

What advice would you give to someone looking to take up rowing seriously?

Set goals for yourself and be consistent. Show up every day and don’t take shortcuts. And enjoy the process.

07

If you could be a professional athlete in any other sport, which sport would it be and why?

I think it would be so much fun to be good at basketball. I am so inspired by the WNBA and US Women’s Basketball Team. It seems like such a fun game and those women all seem like very cool people.

08

Describe your perfect weekend.

My ideal weekend would probably be spent in upstate New York or another similar region. I love trail running and hiking, so that would be on the agenda. And then after maybe a brewery in the town and end the night with a campfire.

What are your main reasons for recommending Beet It Sport?

Beet It was recommended to be my junior year of college, around the same time I decided I wanted to try and make the Olympic Team after graduating. I remember taking it a few times before hard workouts and just feeling unstoppable. Ever since then, its been in my regimen before hard workouts or races, and it still makes me feel unstoppable every time. I don’t swear by many supplements, but Beet It I truly believe has elevated my performance.
